David Prior | Project and Research Officer, Committee for Melbourne
The Committee for Melbourne is about shaping a better future for Melbourne.
The Committee brings together Melbourne’s community and industry leaders to engage in rigorous debate and share ideas and strategies for future growth and development. Working with, and on behalf of their members, the Committee aims to ensure Melbourne’s challenges and opportunities are addressed in ways that keep our city vital, inclusive, progressive and sustainable.
As a not-for-profit, member-based entity, the Committee is politically independent and entirely impartial. This allows them to freely and purposefully raise issues important to the growth and development of Greater Melbourne.
David works with Committee for Melbourne and is one of the Secretariat lead for the 'Future Skills' Taskforce. The Taskforce has worked closely with the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) to identify how Greater Melbourne can become a life-long learning city. David co-authored, in conjunction with FYA and the Committee's members, a submission to the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) review which recommended micro-credentials be formally recognised. Prior to the Committee, David has worked in the research function at BCG in London.
